90210 Collection — A Collaboration with Kelly Wearstler
The 90210 collection began with an invitation from American designer Kelly Wearstler to explore the architectural heritage of her 1926 Beverly Hills residence. The house, rich with Georgian and Neoclassical details, became both the inspiration and the material foundation for our collaboration.
Working inside Kelly’s home, I cast selected ornaments directly from its historic architecture. Using liquid rubber, I applied layers onto walls, moldings, cornices, and fragments throughout the house. The process captured every nuance: the crisp lines shaped by classical craftsmanship, subtle irregularities left by age, and the intimate textures formed by nearly a century of living. Through this work, the home transformed into a living archive. Each casting held a moment, a surface, a memory.
From Collaboration to Collection
Back in my studio, these impressions became the starting point for a family of sculptural furniture pieces. Each work centers on a single architectural ornament from the house, reinterpreted across forms; mirrored, seated, carved, and stacked. By translating these historic details into soft, flexible materials, the collection challenges familiar ideas of structure and permanence. What was once rigid architecture becomes tactile, playful, and sensorial.
My Practice
This collection grows from my wider practice, which focuses on how architecture stores memory in its smallest details. I cast fragments directly from historic buildings, preserving every curve, crack, and imperfection. What begins as stone becomes soft. What was fixed becomes flexible. These castings become sculptural objects that exist between art and design: mirrors, chairs, benches, and pieces that carry architectural memory into daily life. Each one is a 3D memory, a tactile imprint of a place, a time, a gesture.
Contemporary Heritage
I see ornament not as decoration but as a bearer of history. Through repetition and transformation, I create new rhythms, contemporary expressions of memory, heritage, and change. In 90210, Kelly’s expressive design language meets my exploration of architectural memory. The result is a series of sculptural 3D memories that preserve the atmosphere of her Beverly Hills home while inviting new interpretations, gestures, and encounters.
